Dear Praying Friends, Good things are happening in Mexico City during our absence. The church celebrated Kid's Day to begin the spring campaign. They had 362 in attendance -- 199 adults and 163 children. Twelve adults and 5 children made decisions. I flew down for their Mother's Day celebration on the 6th of May. They have it on a different date in Mexico. We had 181 adults, 262 altogether. The auditorium was full of people. Two were saved. The Fairhaven Youth Group recently returned from their "Destination Unknown" trip. We are thankful for God's working in the hearts of our young people. The video below highlights the trip.
Fairhaven Baptist Academy held its annual Open House on Friday. Families who are interested in the school had an opportunity to observe classes, and meet students and staff. Students were able to demonstrate academic achievements accomplished throughout the school year. Refreshments were made and served by the home economics students.
We were privileged to help Cornerstone Baptist Church in Chicago, pastored by Courtney Lewis (’00), purchase a 15,000 square foot building. Cornerstone members will be busy renovating the building in time for their Grand Opening service to be held on May 31, 2015, which will also be the church’s 7th anniversary.
Fairhaven Baptist College and Academy students enjoyed a trip to Memories Pizza in Walkerton, Indiana. This small-town restaurant recently received national media attention because the owner stated he would not cater a gay wedding due to his religious beliefs. The students showed their support to the owner by patronizing the restaurant.
It was a blessing to have a couple graduates here this week to preach in chapel and teach in our Christian Education class. This year's Preaching Conference was a very special time of Biblical preaching and sincere fellowship among many pastors, missionaries, and laymen.
