August 23rd is quickly approaching - the day of our departure to Cambodia.  Furlough is coming to a close, and we will be returning with two more individuals than we left with.  Our son, Christopher, after speding his freshman year in Bible college will be returning to the field for a year.  It will be nice to be together as a family again.  Also, we are excited about Joy Zdziarski, a young lady from Illinois, who will be teaching several of our church's young people in our growing Christian school.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click on [...]

In the last three months, our family has traveled almost 20,000 miles with meetings from our nation's capital in the East to the mountains of Utah in the West.  God has blessed with renewed ties of prayers and fellowship as we reconnect with supporting churches.  We are so thankful for the faithfulness of God's people all over the States.  Faithfulness is so essential to long-term fruitfulness.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click on the link below. Praise the Lord that the COVID virus is receding in Cambodia; we are thankful for a partial lifting of government restrictions on church services.  The Prime Minister has issued a letter granting permission for religious assembly, as long as the local civil authorities approve and certain guidelines are followed.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below. High Level Restriction After eighteen months of various levels of adjustments due to the virus, we are finally under official RED ZONE restriction.  There is police presence on the streets, and everyone is required to be under "house arrest" until further notice from the local authorities.  Anyone on the streets unlawfully can be penalized and indicted with criminal charges.  Only in the case of serious emergencies are there any exceptions.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below. Praise the Lord for 12-year-old Monote whose salvation experience is quite amazing.  Almost two years ago, this boy was taken away to a distant province where he was raised by his grandparents.  By all indications, our ministy outreach to Monote was over.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click on the link below. In April, after the sudden death of one of our beloved teachers, Akara, we experienced grief and learned to trust in the everlasting arms of our Heavenly Father.  Although we were not permitted because of COVID restrictions to attend the funeral which took place in Akara's home province, yet we were thankful that her family allowed a group of Christians in the Stund Treng province to host a Christian funeral and glorify God at her graveside.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below. Praise the Lord for lost sheep that have found the Great Shepherd of their souls.  Thank you for praying; God has given us some amazing answers to prayer.  Recently, we found Sopiep, a man who has suffered through a divorce, drug use, and even a near-death encounter that left him crippled and desperate for help.  For the last six weeks, he has pursued the true Gospel.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below. Praise the Lord for His perfect plans.  God's ways are not our ways.  Our family had plans to return to Cambodia right after Thanksgiving, however God saw fit that we spend another month in the States.  (God new that we needed the rest and the spiritual renewing!)  Because of COVID, there were so many things that had to fall into place, and God began to work things our each step of the way.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click on the link below. Jesus stood on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and exhorted Peter, when I've gone back to heaven, don't forget to feed my sheep.  God wants His sheep to be nourished with the Word of God.  Again, on the Mount of Olives, Jesus said as the final point of His Commission, "Teach them in all things whatsoever I have commanded you." As God has given us the oversight of His church, we must teach them God's timeless truths as the unchanging Word of God is the foundation of faith and practice.  May God bless the hearing and the heeding of [...]

Romans 12:12 states, "Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer." In times of distress and various trials, we must be on guard against the wrong responses.  God's Word gives the formula for endurance through these trials.  In the midst of distress, we must keep our focus upon the right things.  According to the verse above, we must: 1. Be pleasant (rejoicing in God's hope...expecting, delighting in His peace and promises); 2. Be patient (resting in God's promises without despair); and 3. Be prayerful (seeking Divine direction to navigate through the trials).  To continue reading the update from Eli [...]

Perplexed yet not distressed. In II Corinthians 4:8, Paul gives a ministry report, "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair."  On every front Paul faced immeasurable trials, and at times, there seemed to be no end in sight.  Yet, his reply to these troubles was, "No distress and no despair." Psalm 28:7  The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.  God is truly worthy of praise and He is good all the time.  David's attitude was one of praise and thanksgiving.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below. Theme for 2020:  Esteeming God's Word "I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food" (Job 23:12).  As for Job, God's Word was considered a high priority and was sought after with all his heart  (although he didn't have the Biblical canon as we do). After eleven months of weekly Saturday AM Bible Club meetings at K'na village, God has blessed the efforts of His people in this unreached village.  Just last week, the first soul was saved, a twelve-year-old girl named Voleak.  She was eager to finish the salvation lessons and happily trusted Christ as her Saviour.  With great anticipation, she told Mari-lyn.  "I want to believe on Christ now!"  Pray with us that God would plant a substantial work in that village. Victory Baptist VBS 2019 was blessed abundantly above that which we asked or thought!  The rains descended and the floods came, but God held the rains back until the evenings when the kids had returned home.  Attendance this year beat the records; God blessed with a high day of 63!  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below.
