Romans 12:12 states, "Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer." In times of distress and various trials, we must be on guard against the wrong responses.  God's Word gives the formula for endurance through these trials.  In the midst of distress, we must keep our focus upon the right things.  According to the verse above, we must: 1. Be pleasant (rejoicing in God's hope...expecting, delighting in His peace and promises); 2. Be patient (resting in God's promises without despair); and 3. Be prayerful (seeking Divine direction to navigate through the trials).  To continue reading the update from Eli [...]

Perplexed yet not distressed. In II Corinthians 4:8, Paul gives a ministry report, "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair."  On every front Paul faced immeasurable trials, and at times, there seemed to be no end in sight.  Yet, his reply to these troubles was, "No distress and no despair." Psalm 28:7  The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.  God is truly worthy of praise and He is good all the time.  David's attitude was one of praise and thanksgiving.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below. Theme for 2020:  Esteeming God's Word "I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food" (Job 23:12).  As for Job, God's Word was considered a high priority and was sought after with all his heart  (although he didn't have the Biblical canon as we do). After eleven months of weekly Saturday AM Bible Club meetings at K'na village, God has blessed the efforts of His people in this unreached village.  Just last week, the first soul was saved, a twelve-year-old girl named Voleak.  She was eager to finish the salvation lessons and happily trusted Christ as her Saviour.  With great anticipation, she told Mari-lyn.  "I want to believe on Christ now!"  Pray with us that God would plant a substantial work in that village. Victory Baptist VBS 2019 was blessed abundantly above that which we asked or thought!  The rains descended and the floods came, but God held the rains back until the evenings when the kids had returned home.  Attendance this year beat the records; God blessed with a high day of 63!  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below. There is one word that comes to mind when describing the roads in our town: chaos!  Pedestrians walk on the street because of no sidewalks; bicycles, motorbikes, rick-shaws, "tuk-tuk" carts, and taxis of all types have to commute on the same street!  Of course, many accidents occur - mostly from intoxicated driving or the lack of formal driver's training. Psalm 111:2  The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.  God's work is evident around us.  We truly are undeserving of His blessings.  As we report on the work in Cambodia, we are thankful for the part you have played in getting the Word of God to Cambodians.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below. In Cambodian culture, young people are generally considered a nuisance, therefore not much effort is put into the training of youth.  While the world neglects these young ones, the Word of God teaches us the value of planting the Seed of the Word of God in tender soil.  How exciting to see these teens open their hearts to the truth: there is only One True God and all other gods cannot compare! Although words seem inadequate, we want to send a big thank you for the missions trip by the Olsons.  They did a great job of organizing and planning this trip.  As for the entire group, they seemed to have a good attitude and a servant's heart.  (Thanks to Sharon Edwards and the Olsons as they brought along all the humor and sarcasm; they were nutty!) The crew helped us with preaching/teaching, bible lessons, testimonies, practical stories, object lessons, games, set up;take down, musical accompaniment, special music, and manual labor.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock click the link below. "Psalm 136:2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever." Now as well as always we should express our thanks to God; He is truly the God above all gods.  Here are some recent blessings that God has graciously given us: Click the link below to continue reading the update from Eli Schrock Eli Schrock Family
