Get To Know a Fairhaven Family: Tom and Darlene Hady, Chesterton

Please share a little about your salvation experience.

Tom - I was witnessed to by Mrs. Evelyn Sanders’ father who was a co-worker of mine. I got saved when I went to visit his church in April of 1969.

Dar - I was saved through a vacation Bible school in Brooklyn, Michigan in 1962. “Uncle Fran the Bible Man” held vacation Bible school in our town each summer. I asked Jesus to be my Savior on a Sunday school bus where a worker dealt with me.

Please share a verse and/or answer to prayer that God has given you over the last month or so.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).
This verse has been special to us. It was highlighted once more when Travis Burke preached about it during the Preaching Conference this year. God is a very present help in trouble.

What do you like best about our church?

The Preaching Conference is very special to us. The Bible is used in each of our services to show us changes we need to make in our lives.

How long have you been attending FBC?

Tom - I first came in 1972.
Dar - I started attending in 1976.

How did you hear about our church?

Tom - I attended two special meetings when the church was very young; one at the VFW in town and the other while the church was meeting in a house.
Dar - Dr. Voegtlin came to the college I was attending and talked about the court case FBC had gone through. I did my student teaching here at FCA in February of 1976 and in September of that year I returned to teach.
