If you will, please turn in your Bibles to Habakkuk 3:2.  Habakkuk comes on the scene unannounced. Who he is, what tribe he’s from, what family he was born into, we’re not told.  We don’t know very much about the time of his ministry either.  His name is obscure.  But scholars tell us that his name means an “ardent embracing,” or a “wrestling.”  And there’s no doubt that he wrestled with God.  As you look through this short book, over and over again we see him begging God to send revival, begging God to rend the heavens.
