Opening Thoughts

  • God is going to give us a test
  • The test reveals what we learned (not teach)
  • It is for our own good

Examples of God's tests

  • Manna in the Wilderness - Exodus 16:4; Numbers 11:33
  • The Ten Commandments being given - Exodus 20
  • The wilderness wanderings - Deuteronomy 8:2
  • Who do you love? - Deuteronomy 13:1-3
  • Nations left for the Israelites - Judges 2:21-22
    • Constant exposure to the world getting in?
    • God let them lay in their own bed of problems they made

Other thoughts

  • We are not to tempt God - Deuteronomy 6:16
  • We should ask God to test us
