For episode 38 of the "50 Baptist You Should Know" Series, we will discuss the ministry of John Monroe Parker.

Dr. Parker was born in June of 1909 in Alabama.  He grew up in a godly home, and was saved after hearing the preaching of Bob Shuler.  He attended Bob Jones College in Florida, eventually becoming an evangelist.

He was able to witness to Al Capone himself while hitchhiking his way to college, and would find out later that the evangelist George Mensik was saved because of his riding as a bodyguard in the gang's car.

Throughout his life he was a professor at Bob Jones University, President of Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, as well as an evangelist.

His autobiography is Through Sunshine and Shadows.
