Ezra 9-10

The purpose of separation Key Verse: “He shall separate himself from...unto the Lord” (Numbers 6:1-12)
- Not:
- Because they were a superior people - Deuteronomy 7:6-8; 1 Corinthians 1:26-29
- To live in a communal lifestyle - John 17:14-16; 1 Corinthians 5:9-10
- It was to help them:
- Avoid false worship - 1 Peter 1:15-16; Philippians 2:15
- Avoid worldly tendencies - 2 Corinthians 6:14-17; James 4:4; Romans 12:1-2
- 3.Identify as God's people - 1 Peter 2:9-10
