Bible Text: Mark 15 |

The Wonder of the Cross

Mark 15

Thought: Before Christ, the cross was despised. It was a symbol of the worse kind of cruelty and barbarity imaginable. The purpose of the cross was to execute criminals in the most hideous means, producing the greatest amount of pain and agony over an extended time. But, after Christ’s death on the cross, this despised symbol became a representation of unconditional love. It came to signify sacrifice and forgiveness representing the whole Christian faith. It went from an article of shame and reproach to pride and praise among the faithful.
