Bible Text: Romans 6:11-14 |

Sermon Outline

God is ready to assume full responsibility for the life wholly yielded
to Him.” ~Andrew Murray

  • Is yielding important for the believer?
    • It is God's design for the believer (Philippians 2:9)
    • It brings maturity (John 14:1, 13-14, 23, 26; John 15:1-5)
    • It allows for victory in the believer's life (John 16:32-33)
  • What does yielding look like?
    • Courage (Acts 1:1-26)
    • Awareness of God's presence (Acts 8:1-40; 9:1-43)
    • Victory (Romans 8:11)
    • Zeal (Philippians 2:1)

I wish that saints would cling to Christ half as earnestly as sinners
cling to the devil. If we were as willing to suffer for God as some are
willing to suffer for their lusts, what perseverance and zeal would be
seen on all sides!” ~C.H. Spurgeon

  • How can you yield your life to God?
    • Present your body a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1)
    • Make yourself clean (2 Timothy 2:19-21)
    • Submit to God's will (Romans 12:2)
    • Commit to earnest prayer (Luke 22:39-43)
