What do Texas, Utah, Ohio, Korea, and West Virginia have in common? They are states (and a country) in which young ladies who graduated from Fairhaven Christian Academy and went on to graduate from Fairhaven Baptist College this past May are going to teach in Christian schools. Praise the Lord! Please pray for Megan Brater (Utah), Sarah Olson (Ohio), Rachel McNabb (Texas), Jennifer Gentry (Korea), and Sara Dupre (West Virginia) as they begin teaching in Christian schools this August.
This year's Preaching Conference was a very special time of Biblical preaching and sincere fellowship among many pastors, missionaries, and laymen. Traditional, powerful music complimented the convicting messages brought by Herb Hutchinson, Ron Royalty, Ernest Gambrell, Courtney Lewis, and Randy Starr. It was wonderful to see many alumni here. For more pictures of the Alumni Breakfast click here. We are already making plans for next year, which will be the 40th anniversary of Fairhaven Baptist College. Please make plans to join us April 23-27, 2017. Dr. Royalty gave a short challenge at our Alumni Breakfast.
Dave and Lisa Olson recently traveled to Mexico City to visit one of Fairhaven's missionaries, the Rardin family. Dave is the Director of Missions for Fairhaven Baptist College. The Rardin family (Clint, Rhonda, Elias, Jackson, and Kellie) are missionaries sent out of Fairhaven Baptist Church and have been serving God in Mexico for almost twenty years. Liberty Baptist Church is located very close to the largest military bases in Mexico and near a large shopping center, making it a highly visible location. The 39th year of Fairhaven Baptist College began last week. We praise the Lord for an increased enrollment, and in particular an increase of ten male dormitory students compared to last fall. Our country needs preachers, and our prayers for these men were answered. In addition to various opening week activities, a guest preacher speaks in the first several chapel services. This year's speaker was Larry Williams, a 1980 graduate of Fairhaven Baptist College and pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Seneca, Pennsylvania. Pastor Williams also spoke at our annual Stewardship Banquet. Pastor Williams at the Stewardship Banquet [...]
Since college graduation, various FBC groups and representatives have traveled across the nation and to several foreign countries. FBC has been represented in many states (from Maine to Utah), as well as churches and mission works in Canada, Germany, France, and the Czech Republic. The ensemble enjoyed a morning at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Tioga, Pennsylvania. Pictured here are Pastor Steve ('91) and Jennifer ('92) Neff and their family. The Lord blessed with another wonderful graduation service. This year Philip Bishop, pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia, was our commencement speaker. What a blessing to see young people going out to serve the Lord. Pastor Bishop Brenda Champo is going back to Zambia, Africa, where Greta Gordon (left) and Lisa Olson (right) both influenced her when they were missionaries there.
It was a blessing to have a couple graduates here this week to preach in chapel and teach in our Christian Education class. Robert Mickey ('89) is a missionary to Kenya, Africa, and Luke Brown ('90) is an assistant pastor in Cleveland, Ohio. Robert Mickey ('89) and Pastor Damron Luke ('90) and Pam ('89) Brown
