On Wednesday we had our Day of Prayer for this semester.  Pastor Jonas, a graduate of 7 years ago, who pastors a church on the other side of Curitiba was our speaker.  He gave a brief but interesting devotional on the prayer of Elijah on Mount Carmel.  Then we had opportunities to pray for all of our 340+ graduates.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click on the link below. We had a good first week of classes, and at this point, the students are happy.  It also warmed up over the weekend, which definitely helps.  Jan told me to wait three months and see how the mood on campus is!  She is right, as the semester grinds on and the work piles up, the mood gets heavier.  But we will enjoy their light-heartedness for now.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click on the link below. Last week I met with a man who is a contact of one of our missionaries in the Orient.  He got involved with this missionary's English Bible study via Zoom through a mutual friend.  The missionary asked me to visit him, as he lives in Curitiba.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click the link below. Thank you for praying for our Bible Conference.  We were able to have it "in person" for the students and one of the speakers was able to be present.  It was a wonderful conference with good messages.  Our students responded very well.  One student said to Jan "I have never attended a conference that made such a big difference in my life!"  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click on the link below. I trust you all had a good Resurrection Sunday, in remembrance of all that Christ has done for us! Because of the Covid-19 virus, we have had some restrictions that have made it difficult to meet for church.  For about three weeks it was prohibited to hold services in the church building.   We offered people to come to our home, but the church building was closed.  To continue reading the update from Joel Dunbar, please click the link below. Last Sunday we had a meeting in Mississippi.  Wednesday night we had a meeting in the Kansas City metro area, and yesterday we had a meeting in Olathe, Kansas.  It has been a joy to reconnect with these supporting churches and share what God is doing in our ministry in Brazil.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click the link below. What an exciting time to be alive! 2020 is constantly getting picked on, however, I believe this year demonstrated more than ever the eminent return of Christ. I think we are on the doorstep of the Rapture! To continue reading the update from Joel Dunbar, please click the link below. The Dunbars - November 2020

I hope this letter finds you well.  We are rejoicing in what God has recently done. I needed to renew my visa again, which proved interesting during a world-wide pandemic.  The mail was so slow that my documents from the U.S. were expired about the time I received them.  Because of this I expected to pay a fine for being late.  As it turned out, I was actually early, and all my paperwork was accepted the first time.  To continue reading the update from Joel Dunbar, please click the link below. The Lord granted us a wonderful Missions Conference at the Bible College.  Even though we had a small number due to the restrictions, the students loved getting back together with the town students and staff who were able to come.  Our speakers and their wives were all our graduates.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click on the link below. Friday we registered all of our students but two for classes.  I was able to take care of one in an online chat and the last one this morning.  (You can do ANYTHING online, right?)  Sadly, we have one from last semester who will be sitting out, as this student made some unwise choices during the lock-down last semester.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click on the link below. I trust this letter finds you faithfully serving our Savior, in the midst of a crazy world.  I am so glad that we serve a faithful God.  It has been interesting, knowing how to operate the ministry, as the rules for this current virus seem to change on a weekly basis. Praise the Lord that we serve the God that is always on the throne, is always in control, and is not surprised by the events of this year. One thing that I have learned from Preacher Keck is conflicts are opportunities for service.  During this time, I have been seeking opportunities that I would not normally have. Thank you for praying for our decision about the winter break.  We were able to determine that it would not be beneficial for all of our students, so we will maintain our regular schedule. Thursday was a holiday, so our students got library time instead of classes.  In the evening we got our campus students together to play table games.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click the link below. We have now finished 7 weeks of semi-lock down here on campus.  Our city has had less than 30 cases of Covid-19, and only 2 deaths, for which we are thankful.  Many commercial stores are now functioning with social distancing and face mask requirements being enforced.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click the link below. On Tuesday and Wednesday our professors trained and prepared, and on Thursday we began distance education for all of our classes.  God was very gracious and within two days we had all 12 professors and 6 town students online and off the campus.  There have been a few hiccips, but overall, things are going well.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click on the link below.
