We arrived in Cambodia 25 years ago full of excitement, yet a bit fearful of our new lives.  We did not speak the language.  We did not understand the culture.  The food was strange.  The smells were strange.  We missed our families.  The list could go on and on.  However, we had no idea of the special treasure God would place in our lives on the day we arrived... Praise the Lord for 12-year-old Monote whose salvation experience is quite amazing.  Almost two years ago, this boy was taken away to a distant province where he was raised by his grandparents.  By all indications, our ministy outreach to Monote was over.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click on the link below. Many missionaries and national pastors have had the privilege of investing in Pastor Tho, his family, and his ministry.  The Ruppels are just a small part of what God is doing in their lives. Pastor Tho was saved in Phnom Penh and soon became burdened for his relatives in his home village about 100 kms away.  To continue reading the update from Rodney Ruppel, please click on the link below. In April, after the sudden death of one of our beloved teachers, Akara, we experienced grief and learned to trust in the everlasting arms of our Heavenly Father.  Although we were not permitted because of COVID restrictions to attend the funeral which took place in Akara's home province, yet we were thankful that her family allowed a group of Christians in the Stund Treng province to host a Christian funeral and glorify God at her graveside.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below. Thank you all for praying for us during the lockdown.  Becky arrived home safe and traveled to Rhadee's college graduation.  I am so glad Becky could be there.  We are so proud of our kids. During lock-down, I realized how far behind I was on office work.  So it's been productive getting caught up on a number of things.  To continue reading the update from Rodney Ruppel, please click on the link below Rodney Ruppel - May 2021

Praise the Lord for lost sheep that have found the Great Shepherd of their souls.  Thank you for praying; God has given us some amazing answers to prayer.  Recently, we found Sopiep, a man who has suffered through a divorce, drug use, and even a near-death encounter that left him crippled and desperate for help.  For the last six weeks, he has pursued the true Gospel.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click the link below. Sometimes our heart thopes for things that are good things/ things that are God's will or things that we believe to be God's will.  Sometimes our hopes increase because of the circumstances that surround us.  You know, we can see things coming together!  At the beginning of January, it seemed as if things were "coming together." Praise the Lord for His perfect plans.  God's ways are not our ways.  Our family had plans to return to Cambodia right after Thanksgiving, however God saw fit that we spend another month in the States.  (God new that we needed the rest and the spiritual renewing!)  Because of COVID, there were so many things that had to fall into place, and God began to work things our each step of the way.  To continue reading the update from Eli Schrock, please click on the link below. This last weekend God gave safety to all of us traveling to Kampot for the funeral. Some of Nay's family are Christians, but the Buddhist family members demanded a Buddhist funeral.  However, they did allow us time to have a Christian service for him.  We say a number of positive results. The Lord our God is still doing whatsoever He pleases in Heaven and in earth.  He is in control and can accomplish whatsoever He pleases, even in the "deep" places.  During the last few months, I have been in "deep" over my head with work and problem solving of all sorts.  Life has overwhelmed me with blessings and challenges on a daily basis.  It is in these blessings, problems, and minstry that we have seen God do as He pleases in both our lives and ministry. It was quite a task, but Becky and I managed to jump through all the hoops, including fourteen days of quarantine, to re-enter Cambodia!  We were let out into the public on August 21st.  Since then, we have been extremely busy in every aspect of the ministry we have here. Jesus stood on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and exhorted Peter, when I've gone back to heaven, don't forget to feed my sheep.  God wants His sheep to be nourished with the Word of God.  Again, on the Mount of Olives, Jesus said as the final point of His Commission, "Teach them in all things whatsoever I have commanded you." As God has given us the oversight of His church, we must teach them God's timeless truths as the unchanging Word of God is the foundation of faith and practice.  May God bless the hearing and the heeding of [...]

We know that it is our Lord Jesus Christ that builds the church.  Only He can do a spiritual, life changing work in the hearts of men.  However, we are so thankful that God is pleased to use us as tools in the great work that He does as the Masterbuilder. Becky and I rejoice to see what God has done in the hearts of people over the last 24 years.  God has been so good!  To continue reading the update from Rodney Ruppel, please click the link below. Romans 12:12 states, "Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer." In times of distress and various trials, we must be on guard against the wrong responses.  God's Word gives the formula for endurance through these trials.  In the midst of distress, we must keep our focus upon the right things.  According to the verse above, we must: 1. Be pleasant (rejoicing in God's hope...expecting, delighting in His peace and promises); 2. Be patient (resting in God's promises without despair); and 3. Be prayerful (seeking Divine direction to navigate through the trials).  To continue reading the update from Eli [...]

Perplexed yet not distressed. In II Corinthians 4:8, Paul gives a ministry report, "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair."  On every front Paul faced immeasurable trials, and at times, there seemed to be no end in sight.  Yet, his reply to these troubles was, "No distress and no despair."
