Friday we registered all of our students but two for classes.  I was able to take care of one in an online chat and the last one this morning.  (You can do ANYTHING online, right?)  Sadly, we have one from last semester who will be sitting out, as this student made some unwise choices during the lock-down last semester.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click on the link below. Thank you for praying for our decision about the winter break.  We were able to determine that it would not be beneficial for all of our students, so we will maintain our regular schedule. Thursday was a holiday, so our students got library time instead of classes.  In the evening we got our campus students together to play table games.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click the link below. We have now finished 7 weeks of semi-lock down here on campus.  Our city has had less than 30 cases of Covid-19, and only 2 deaths, for which we are thankful.  Many commercial stores are now functioning with social distancing and face mask requirements being enforced.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click the link below. On Tuesday and Wednesday our professors trained and prepared, and on Thursday we began distance education for all of our classes.  God was very gracious and within two days we had all 12 professors and 6 town students online and off the campus.  There have been a few hiccips, but overall, things are going well.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click on the link below. Our students began trickling onto campus last week.  On Thursday we registered 16.  On Friday and Saturday we had orientation for our 5 new students.  To be honest, we had prayed for more, and were counting on 3-4 more students who had indicated they would be coming.  But I often pray that the Lord would "send us who are prepared for what we have to offer." Our seniors breakfast on Wednesday went well.  They really enjoyed the American food Jan prepared.  One of our students did not eat supper the night before or anything before he came at 9:00 a.m.  I think he ate the most! On Friday we actually had no idea how many would be coming for our "Seminarian's Day," but we were hoping the Lord would give us 50.  We had 74 registered visitors representing 13 churches, from 2 states.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click the link below: The Alexanders - November 2019

On Friday night we had this semester's music recital.  There were 24 performances, and all 17 of Jan's students played.  (Not including the grandkids she teaches over the internet.)  She has a nearly 40 year-old beginner, and 17 year-olds that are advanced intermediates.  (This keeps her from getting bored.)  Most all of them did well and did not let their mistakes unnerve them.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click on the link below. The days of our 40th anniversary conference were some of the busiest we have had in some time, but they were wonderful! The conference went very well, and we got excellent feedback from those who came, both speakers and graduates. To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click the attached link. Our master's module on Biblical Counseling began on Monday afternoon, ending on Friday at noon.  Barry (a BMM colleague) and I did the translating.  Dr. Jeff Newman did a wonderful job of presenting an overview of Biblical Counseling as well as its theological implications.  We had 10 students matriculated and each one of them expressed their appreciation for the class.    To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander, please click the link below. This week we were still trying to get things cleaned up or up-to-date, and broken things fixed.  We still have two broken washing machines, but hopefully the mechanic will finally come tomorrow.  Yesterday morning I started a two-part series on "the will of God", as Pastor Rafael has scheduled me to preach two Sunday mornings.  To continue reading the update from Ed Alexander click on the link below. The two middle Sundays of November we had no meetings so we were able to catch up on some things as well as spend some time with our childrens' families in Greenville.  Over the weekend we traveled to Chicago, and yesterday we reported to one of our supporting churches in the morning. Monday Update The Lord answered prayer concerning the Brazilian presidential election.  The candidate from the political right was elected.  He is certainly not the answer to all of Brazil's problems, but I believe the candidate from the left could have plunged the country into worse turmoil.
