FCA juniors recently visited the State Capitol in Indianapolis and served as pages in the State Legislature.
This year we were able to hold our traditional New Year's Service on New Year's Eve--bringing in the new year together as a church family. A fun family activity started the evening off with games in the gym and a gift exchange, followed by a church-wide fellowship with lots of good food, and a special service full of singing, specials, preaching, and testimonies. At the conclusion of the service, we prayed in the new year together. We are looking forward to serving the Lord in 2020! [...]
What a blessing to celebrate our Savior's birth and worship Him on Christmas Sunday! Some of the 3rd-6th grade children provided a short program portraying the true meaning of Christmas. The program along with the musical specials helped to prepare hearts for the preaching of the Word through a message brought by Pastor Damron. "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our annual Christmas banquet. The food and fellowship were wonderful. Following the delicious meal, Pastor Kyle Allen from Richmond Baptist Church in Richmond, Indiana, brought a challenging message. Pastor Allen and his wife Elizabeth (Roadcup) are both 2005 graduates of Fairhaven Baptist College.
We were privileged to participate in Chesterton's Twilight Christmas Parade as well as the Snowflake Parade in Michigan City. We used this opportunity to pass out over 1,600 Christmas tracts and invitations (and many pieces of candy to the happy children lining the parade route.)
We enjoyed another wonderful Thanksgiving morning at Fairhaven with a special breakfast and testimony service. What a joy to come together to praise the Lord and thank Him for His goodness in our lives. "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name" (Psalm 100:4).
