Jon Hall

The Lord has provided so many blessings to and for us since we left Australia in late October.  Pastor and Mrs. Tangeman, long-time ministry friends, picked us up at the airport in Washington, DC (& also treated us to a meal at Olive Garden!)  We spent a week at our sending church in northern Virginia.  Pastor Mark Carpenter is our new pastor, and catching up with him and his wife was a blessing.  To continue reading the update from Jon Hall, please click on the link below. Twenty-twenty was a different kind of year for sure.  Ironically, it was very similar for all of us.  Never before have all the people of the world been so commonly affected by any one thing.  Even the most faithful Christians went to fewer church services; and evangelism that didn't practice social distancing was reduced.  All have been affected financially or socially, even in the secular world. While bearing and sowing precious Gospel seed last week in Ulladulla, it was hard to know whether rejections were spiritual or Covid-related.  We thank the Lord for several good contacts that were made, and for the sowing of seed that was accomplished.  God is able to turn hearts, calm fears, and bring people to Himself in any and all circumstances! In spite of Covid restrictions and fears, the Lord has been blessing and allowing us to conduct on-site and digital servies each week.  In Nowra at Shoalhaven Baptist Church, we meet on-site each week for Pastor Shellabear's adult Sunday School class, for our Wednesday Bible study and prayer meeting, and for two different Friday youth activities.  To continue reading the update from Jon Hall, please click on the link below. Australia's raging fires have been brought under control as the Lord has sent much rain to the drought-stricken continent!  To those not afflicted with anti-God angst, a feeling of gratitude has been very evident in recent weeks.  It has given us opportunity to share the wonderful truths of the Lord's forgiveness and mercy, and to share the Gospel with some. Many have asked how we are doing as news of the Australian fires has spread.  Thank you for your care and your prayers.  So far, we are safe as the Lord allows it.  But the present fire situation in Australia has no equal in history.  Four million hectares have burned.  More than 500 fires are burning across the continent (which is almost the same size as America) in Australia's 6 states and 2 territories.  On January 4, the Sydney suburb of Penrith was the hottest place on earth at 120 degrees F!
