Luke continued the report about the fourth missionary journey to Rome and the kings or Caesar by mentioning in verse 18, the tempest which caused them to be tossed and to lighten the ship further in precaution and further preparations.  To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click on the link below. Just as the heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork, so are we to be faithful to declare His glory.  We are to display and manifest the glory of God among those who have not heard or have not heard with hearts disposed to follow.  To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click on the link below. It has often been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder; but that is not true, for God defines what is beautiful.  We who created all, also names, and owns all; therefore, He defines what is good and evil, beautiful and ugly.  To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click on the link below. Proverbs 25:25 says, "As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country."  Often in news reports today it is continually sad and tragic news; and at other times, the good news has little content and is unspecific.  We sit waiting and hoping for any news that could refresh and give us that proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.  Thankfully, God has given His Word which is full of hope and refreshing water to our thirsty souls! Pharoah would not allow Moses and the people of God to go into the wilderness to worship but they were to "only" not go far away.  Pharoah, like many tyrants, would not allow them to worship God until God forced him by the plagues.  Tyrants like Pharoah have attempted to tell the church how to worship but we need to be like Moses and reject any condition on our worship given by the government or anyone else.  To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click on the link below. In a time when fear and panic seem to rule, we have the assurance from His Word, "Let not your rearts be troubled.  Ye believe in God, believe also in me" John 14:1.  In these months that quarantine and shut downs abound, we have the mandate to share His Good News with those that are around us.  To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click the link below. Christ gave all power or authority to His disciples and therefore the entire church to make disciples.  John Bunyan defied the governmental attempts to force him to get a license to preach for twelve years while suffering in jail.  He fled the buildings and then went from field to field.  To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click on the link below. I Chronicles 11:14 says, "And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance."  Saul was the foil for David; Saul and all his house died in 10:6 and David waxed greater and greater in 11:9.  This was evidence by the mighty men of valor that came to him.  To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click the link below. Psalm 5:2 says, "Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray."  We tend to forget that God actually answers prayer, or we tend to live with a faint hope that He just might answer it rather than a firm assurance that He will.  David the king went to the greater King and pled his cause.  David had all that power and right and yet that could not help him for only materialists think that this we see is all that is in the world.  To continue reading the update from Gary [...]

Malachi 3:6 says, "For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed."  Malachi 3:6 is one of my favorite verses because I love the immutability of God.  His promises to me are immutable; they never change; they  never mutate.  He never improves because He is the Highest.  To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click on the link below. In the book of Luke, Christ was admonishing His disciples about the last days.  Men's hearts would fail in fear; the earth would have distress of nations.  There would be perplexity on every side.  Sound familiar?  But, we cannot let our focus get too horizontal.  To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click the link below. During the Christmas season we often think of the book of Isaiah and the many prophecies that are in this great book.  Jehovah God chose the nation of Israel to be His people through which the Promised Messiah would come.  Isaiah chapters 38-55 are considered the servant songs, and the servant of the Father Himself would be Jesus who was sent by the Father to save His people from their sins.  Thankfully, it is far more than just Jacob and the nation of Israel that would be saved from their sins; it allows the Gentiles as well to receive His salvation.  [...]

Because of these times, people are concerned with the balance between health and freedom; this has caused a new term to be formed, virtue signaling.  We know that we all stand as sinners, void of any virtue; we have come short of the glory of God.  There is only One alone who is virtuous and worthy, and One alone who can unite the former enemies because of ethnic animosity as His bride.  To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click on the link below. In these days, everyone is being overwhelmed with the constant news that is very disturbing.  There is no peace, much less perfect peace with the radical response to the covid virus, rioting, protesting, and looting.  These have caused us to change our perspective from the vertical focus on God to the horizontal focus on the storm around us.   To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click on the link below. It is incredible the situation that we have found ourselves in.  All of us!  I am amazed at the magnitude of it; it is world-wide!  Here in Puerto Rico we have been on a country-wide lockdown for four weeks now.  Each week or two the governor tightens the restrictions more, so that even today I could not enter a pharmacy without a mask on and no children can be outside their homes or the police will be called.   To continue reading the update from Gary Ashley, please click the link below.
